Cows and Cider

6 Dec

We are in Asturias enjoying a long, relaxing weekend in Northern Spain!  In the days before our trip we could not stop talking about vacas y sidra, cows and cider are both typical of the region.

We are spending our vacations in Cangas de Onís and we spent the day hiking in los Picos de Europa along the Ruta de Cares–I have lots of photos to share soon of our excursion in the mountains.  After our walk we ate a late lunch in Arenas de Cabrales and we made sure to order cheese, fabada, and of course, cider.

Asturias is so beautiful, every two minutes I’ve been punching Santi in the arm and pointing out the scenery, the river that winds alongside the highway is gorgeous, the water is so clear!
